How do I force 20-20 Selling Factors
and Cost Factors (Rate Records) to accept 3 or 4 decimals?
This Document was written for V 6.4 and has not been
tested on 8.0 or 8.1
The two decimal limitation for 20-20 rate factors can be
overcome.
The concept is simple. There are 2 levels of factors in the rate record
structure. For cost factors, price field 7 is overall cost factor, and is
one level of application. Price field 8 is cabinet cost factor. Price
field 9 is for accessories, and price field 10 is for countertops. These
are the second levels for applying factors.
Scenario 1: The same cost factor applies to all items in the
catalog.
Enter a percentage in the price 7 field. Example 33.33%. Then in price 8
and 9 (also 10 if you have countertops in the catalog) enter 0.01.
33.33 times 0.01 equals 0.3333. If you find that 20-20 does not allow
the designer to enter two integers (33.), then you have to add a percent
sign (%) to the User Code and Description fields.
Scenario 2: Different cost factors for cabinets compared to
accessories or countertops.
Yes! Believe it or not, some vendors have different cost factors for
different price levels or door styles. That means the accessory factor
is also different. Or worse yet, a different one for 20-20
Attachments and possibly different cost factors for different
accessories.
Accessories can sometimes be located in different areas of the catalog.
For example, panels can be in the base and wall sections, as well as
valances in the wall section. Open shelf cabinets are usually
accessories. Even if you apply a different factor to accessories, you
will probably not get the results you were expecting.
For this scenario, reverse the above. Enter the percent cost factors in
price 8 and 9 ( 10 for countertops) and 0.01 in price 7.
Apply the same process for selling factors (price 2, 3, 4 and 5).
TIP: If the Copy and Paste commands on your 20-20 are disabled,
contact your administrator. The company administrator should contact
Saberis support for instructions.
Even if the Copy and Paste commands are on the right click menu, there
will not be a Delete command to delete the extra rate records if they
exist. This means they may show up in the design menu instead of the new
one. To eliminate them from showing up in design, you must highlight the
rates in the undesirable rate records and blank out the Link Code and
User Code boxes.
